Welcome
The Angles Way walking route runs over 120 miles highlighting some beautiful scenery spanning 2 Counties, Over 30 Parishes with a mixture of private and public land. The path largely follows the beautiful River Waveney, starting off in the coastal town of Great Yarmouth in Norfolk, running to the Brecks of Thetford in Suffolk.
Covering such a long distance with hundreds of landowners and different authority groups creating a unified plan to help maintain and enhance this route is more than a little tricky. UK volunteers, as always, have been playing their part and managing sections, working with local councils to ensure access is maintained with the support of landowners.
Our aim is to lower the cost and hassle of maintaining this trail by pooling resources, applying for larger multiyear grants and maximising the joint efforts of our volunteer teams.

CLAIM YOUR AREA
If you are a landowner Private, Commercial or Local Authority letting us know who owns what section of the trail is vital This will assist both for permissions and sharing available support. This information will be handled in strict confidence in accordance with our GDPR policy and will not be shared with any external people or organisations. There are additional options to opt in to mailing lists to receive general or targeted information related directly to your area.
PROBLEM REPORTING
Reporting problems or Areas of Concern with such a long trail keeping on top of arising issues is a mammoth task, the more people we have helping us with this the easier it will be. We will be operating a open forum for friendly general discussion, but we ask for all issues to be submitted privately to ourselves using our contact form. Submissions can be anonymous or known with feedback optional dependent on form selection.
BUILDING A COMMUNITY
AWCT is a volunteer led charitable organisation, and we need the input of our community to assist in the project’s effectiveness and direction. We are in the process of developing a forum, building a Social Media presence and general promotion and your input would be hugely appreciated. Admin support would also be very handy to help share the load a little, if you think this is something that you may be interested in, please do drop us a line.
VOLUNTEER WITH US
Our volunteers are the very core of this project and its great to have our community alongside us as we get our hands dirty Planting, Trimming, Building and Fixing along the Angles Way Trail. We have work or all types and suitable for all abilities. Additional training can be provided if your new to conservation work there are so many areas where an extra pair of hands would really help, and we will be providing a more complete job list shortly to help you find your perfect role.
Our Mission
TO CREATE BETTER AWARENESS OF ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION – whether its visible or hidden our natural environment receive a constant barrage of human related pollution. Exploring water and soil pollution/ contamination, operating active testing and preventative planning.
TO PRESERVE, CREATE AND MAINTAIN NATURAL HABITATS WITHIN OUR OPERATIONAL AREA – natural habitats, often need a little extra help to maximise a diversity of plants and wildlife. Scrub clearing, planting and rewilding are among our active projects.
TO MINIMISE THE RECREATIONAL IMPACT THAT HUMANS HAVE ON THE ENVIRONMENT – most of us love being surrounded by nature. The UK is one of the greenest most accessible regions to explore nature, management planning and access is key to protect our sites for future generations.
